Godslayer Arc 1.17 Satri

Satri Roken, Page of the great Champion Miskara Stormmistress of the Ti’darkei Order, twirls the spear that her mistress left in her care before disappearing.

From what her cousin, Page Uri and her own mistress, Knight Sirakor Justmover, have told Satri, it is normal for Champion Miskara to do such things. Something that Satri has noticed due to how Miskara has disappeared in the same way for the other two days that Satri has been her page.

According to Uri, one of the reasons Satri got the position of being Miskara’s page was because she could be trusted to tolerate Miskara’s eccentricities and keep them secret.

Still, Satri doesn’t mind such things as her position is a prestigious one, it pays well and Miskara has proven herself to be a kind mistress so far.

After all, all Satri has to do is look after Miskara’s trivial affairs such as cleaning her clothes, keeping her quarters tidy and preparing her meals.

Satri strolls over to massive mirror in the luxurious quarters to see how well the sleek, smooth white and silver spear suits her now that she has completed all of her outstanding tasks.

Like her cousin Uri, Satri has white fur and black hair, but she is taller with long hair. And also like her cousin, Satri is wearing the white and gold robes of a Ti’darkei Order page.

“Do you think dis looks good?” Satri asks the spear rhetorically.

But to her surprise, the spear flickers one, glowing with white light.

“W-what?!” exclaims Satri as she recoils away from the spear in her grip, the last thing she was expecting being a response from the inanimate object.

Satri hesitate for a moment before asking the spear, “Can you understand me?”

In response to the question, the spearhead blinks once, momentarily full of glowing white light.

“Cool,” mutters Satri, fascinated by this discovery, “How about this, one flash for yes and two flashes for no.”

And the spear blinks once.

“Okay, can you blink twice for no?” asks Satri and the spear does so.

“Dis is so amazing,” whispers Satri, “Does Champion Miskara know about dis?”

The spear blinks three times.

“Does dat mean you don’t know?” inquires Satri.

The spear blinks once.

“Oh, okay,” says Satri as she wonders how to ask Miskara herself about this discovery, “What else can you do?”

A beam of light shoots forth from the spearhead and flies across the room, hitting one of Miskara’s pillows.

With a frightened whimper, Satri drops the spear and darts across the room to Miskara’s canopy bed.

The pillow has a small burn hole in it, but fortunately it hasn’t caught fire or anything. Satri sighs with relief.

“So what do I do with dis now?” mutters Satri.

“Just get a replacement,” says Miskara from behind Satri and the page jumps at the sound of her mistress’ voice.

With a great nervousness, Satri slowly turns around to see Miskara leaning against the wall by the doorway, holding the spear.

“H-hello Champion Miskara,” replies Satri, “I-I mean m-mistress. I d-didn’t realise dat you h-had returned home.”

“Oh relax,” says Miskara with a wave of her hand, “I’m not going to bite your head or anything. Just tell anybody who asks dat it got damaged during me demonstrating my power.”

“But wouldn’t dat be lying?” asks Satri as she relaxes.

With one swift motion, Miskara aims a finger at the pillow in Satri’s hands and fires off a small bolt of electricity. It hits the hole in the pillow with pin point accuracy, burning it even wider.

With a small yelp, Satri drops the pillow before sheepishly bending down and picking it back up.

“Not anymore,” replies Miskara with a smirk, “I didn’t scare you did I?”

“W-well, no, uh yes, you did,” replies Satri, deciding to be honest with her new mistress.

“Sorry,” replies Miskara, sounding genuine to Satri, “I forget dat not everybody is used to my power as I am. Anyway, once you get a replacement pillow, come back here. I want to chat with you.”

“Me?” says Satri, confused.

“Yes, you,” replies Miskara, “You’re my page and I am your mistress. We should get to know each other. Besides, I’m sure you want to know de true story behind dis spear.”

As Satri leaves Miskara’s quarters, she decides that being the Page of the great Champion Miskara Stormmistress of the Ti’darkei Order is nothing like she thought it would be.

Godslayer Arc 1.14 Paliyil Part 2

“What happened?” demands Drakvar as Valen comes to a halt next to him, the wall of light in front of them disappearing.

“Paliyil teleported away idiot,” explains Valen, “Don’t worry, I got a trace on de blaster’s Chi. She is only a few blocks away.”

“You lead the way then,” says Drakvar.

“Wait Pakdar!” shouts Shocker as she comes running down the alley, “What on Lyatar are you doing?”

“Hey Shocker,” says Drakvar as he and Valen turn to face, “We’re-”

“Don’t call me Shocker Pakdar!” screams Shocker as she unleashes a massive blast of electricity at Drakvar.

He blocks it with one of his arms with a sigh.

“Friend of yours idiot?” asks Valen with amusement.

“No, just a psychopathic girl who keeps attacking me,” replies Drakvar.

“What did you just call me Pakdar?” demands Shocker as she sends another burst of electricity at Drakvar with the same results as always.

“Let’s go idiot,” says Valen as he turns away from Shocker, “We can’t let Paliyil get away.”

“Right,” agrees Drakvar as Valen breaks into a run and Drakvar chases after him.

“What is going on?” demands Shocker as she keeps pace with Drakvar and Valen, easily running alongside them, “Who is Paliyil? Do you know why all this chaos is happening?”

“Stay out of this,” says Valen brusquely, “It is too dangerous for normal folks to get involved with. Even a Psychic.”

“I am no normal person or some mere Psychic,” replies Shocker briskly, “I am Miskara Stormmistress, Champion of de Ti’darkei Order and one of two Level 6 Psychics.”

“I don’t care,” retorts Valen bluntly, “But since you’re tagging along and we don’t have time to shake you, I’ll explain de situation anyway. We’re chasing a powerful Warlock called Paliyil Dibar.”

“Warlock?” scoffs Shocker, “You don’t honestly expect me to believe dat nonsense.”

“Says de Kithen who uses magic of her own,” counters Valen sharply, “If you don’t believe in magic, go and deal with your own business. You have no place here.”

“I am not a Kithen,” replies Shocker angrily, “I am a Champion and I have worked hard to prove myself worth of dat title!”

“Focus,” cuts in Drakvar, finally paying attention to duo’s argument.

“Right idiot,” agrees Valen, “Anyway, Paliyil has gone rogue. Turned against the Elder Gods, slaughtered her cabal and took over de body of her second-in-command, binding her Sortel to her spear.”

“Sounds like a bunch of nonsense,” mutters Shocker.

“Regardless, we are here,” replies Valen as he comes to a halt outside of abandoned warehouse, “Be careful. Given dat Paliyil hasn’t fled, I feel dat she is prepared traps for us in what little time she has had. Lightsword!”

Valen summons a blade of glowing white light to his hand and with it, he hacks open the lock to the warehouse door.

“Follow me,” says Valen as he swings open the warehouse door.

Drakvar steps forward, but Shocker steps in front of him, making him pause.

“I’ll go before you,” says Shocker snootily and she follows Valen into the warehouse a moment later, leaving Drakvar as the last one to enter.

“Take cover!” shouts Valen as soon as Drakvar enters the warehouse, “Light Protection!”

As a twisting bolt of wind flies at Valen, a circle of glowing white light appears in front of it, taking the blow for Valen. Shocker on the other hand isn’t as lucky as another bolt of wind slams into her chest with a vigorous fury.

As Valen blocks another trio of wind bolts with his magic light shield, Drakvar spots another couple of wind bolts heading for the downed Shocker. Leaping into action, Drakvar darts towards Shocker, placing himself between her and the incoming attacks.

As Drakvar expected, the wind bolts disappear upon making contact with him.

“Hey idiot!” shouts Valen as he points to where Paliyil is located on the second level of the warehouse, “De blaster is up dere!”

Twisted Winds!” casts Paliyil.

Wall of Light! Valen counter-casts as supernaturally powerful winds comes at them.

The wall of glowing white light appears in front of them and Paliyil’s howling winds smashes against it. Valen’s wall holds, but is clearly damaged by the attack.

A bolt of lightning flies out from behind Drakvar and Valen, twisting and curving so it flies over the wall of light and straight at Paliyil.

Wind Walk!” shouts Paliyil and she teleports out the way of the lightning bolt, reappearing a mere couple of metres to the side.

But the lightning bolt changes direction, swinging back around to hit Paliyil in the back.

Ray Hand!” casts Valen, reaching out with one hand at Paliyil as the Warlock is blasted from the second level of the warehouse.

As Paliyil falls and Drakvar runs forward to meet her as she lands, a glowing yellow hand reaches forth from Valen’s outstretched hand and grasps Paliyil’s spear from her loosen grip.

“No!” shrieks Paliyil as she lands on her feet, glaring at Valen, “Aeris109! Breath Theft!”

As Drakvar closes with Paliyil, ready to strike her with his fists, he feels the air being ripped from his lungs, his magic-nullifying power doing nothing to protect him. Drakvar staggers and stumbles, toppling over forwards as he gasps for breathe.

As he panics over his inability to breathe, Drakvar barely hears Valen shout, “Virtus126!” followed by, “Blazing Light Beam!”

A massive beam of white light with an overbearing yellow glow soars over Drakvar’s head and smashes into Paliyil. As Drakvar feels the air returning to his lungs, Paliyil is sent flying across the warehouse and slams into the wall on the far side of the building with a heavy thud.

I summon de Ancient Warrior-Spirit Solara of de Good Sword!” shouts Valen as Shocker blasts Paliyil with another bolt of electricity before she can recover.

Soul-” Paliyil starts to cast as she struggles to her feet, only to be cut off as Solara blasts her with a beam of light as the Warrior-Spirit appears in the middle of the warehouse.

“Good work,” says Sir Galamin as he enters the warehouse through the same entrance as the others, “I shall deal with Paliyil and Fatimir now.”

But before any of the group can doing anything, Paliyil screams in pain and terror as a black mist is pulled out of her nose, eyes, mouth and ears by an invisible force. The black mist soon disappears even as Sir Galamin tries to cast a spell.

“Mithias Curse it,” curses Sir Galamin as he strides over to Valen, “Brother Valen, the spear please.”

“Of course Milord,” replies Valen as he hands over the spear to Sir Galamin.

The Knight of the Good Sword strokes the spear one hand and mutters a few words in an unknown language before turning to face Shocker.

“Champion Miskara Stormmistress of the Ti’darkei Order,” says Sir Galamin as he address Shocker, “Take care of this spear. It is the vessel of Fatimir Baric’s soul and mind, whose body was stolen by her traitorous master, Paliyil Dibar. I am trusting you to guard her well.”

“O-of course,” replies Miskara in a stunned voice as she accept the spear from Sir Galamin.

“Brother Valen, Sir Solara and Squire Drakvar,” says Sir Galamin, addressing his group as he strides towards Paliyil’s fallen body, “Please return to Jordis. I shall deal with Fatimir’s body and her mother. Champion Miskara, if you wish to have an explanation, return to the Twelfth District tomorrow.”

Godslayer - Arc 1.13 - Paliyil Part 1

“So dis is de best dat Kar’mire has to offer?” grumbles Valen as he looks around the Twelfth District Central Square.

“No,” replies Drakvar, “Only the best that this district has to offer. Of the thirty three districts in Kar’mire, the Twelfth District is one of the worst. No Ti’darkei Knights, minimal support from the City Authorities, the majority of the District Authorities are highly corrupt while the Twelfth District Watch Department is severely underfunded. In fact, the gangs practically run the Twelfth District with the Darklurkers being the most prominent of them.”

“Huh,” grunts Valen as his face distorts with distaste, “I can’t believe dat de Karris Monarchy or de Ti’darkei Order would let something like dis happen, especially not in their capital Kar’mire. Something dis vile would never happen up in de Jorvic Kingdom, not between de Northern Church, de Jord Order and de Knights of de Good Sword.”

“It isn’t a good situation,” agrees Drakvar.

“Somebody ought to blasting do something about it,” says Valen.

“How about this Valen,” replies Drakvar, “Once we dealt with Paliyil and Fatimir, we can do something about Twelfth District’s plights.”

“Now dat sounds like something dat I can get behind,” says Valen with a vicious grin.

Drakvar comes to a halt as he watches a young female Kith exits the District Hall. The Kith is slender and shapely with dark brown fur and sleek black hair. She wears a mixture of purple and black clothes, which are quite tight around her body and show off plenty of it.

But what catches Drakvar’s eye is what is strapped to her back. A smooth and sleek white and silver spear.

Drakvar has seen plenty of people with items like that spears as every Psychic uses their power by harnessing magic through technology, but that spear just reminds him more of conventional magic than psionics.

“Valen,” says Drakvar as he nudges Valen.

“What dumbass?” replies Valen.

“Take a look at that woman with the spear,” says Drakvar, pointing towards the Kith in question.

“Hmm,” mutters Valen as he looks at the Kith, “Blast, you’re right for once idiot. Dat Kith is clearly a magician. Can’t say if she is a Warlock or Mage through.”

“Let’s go after her then,” says Drakvar as he breaks into a run at the woman.

“Hey fool, wait,” replies Valen as he chases Drakvar a moment later.

“Why?” asks Drakvar.

“Because we have no idea what we are going up against fool,” replies Valen, “You don’t survive along going up against magicians who are complete unknowns by just charging in reckless. You’ll get us both killed.”

Drakvar slows down, but the Kith woman has already spotted them. She dashes through the crowd.

“Blast!” curses Valen as he runs past Drakvar, “After her you idiot!”

“On it,” replies Drakvar as he follows Valen.

But woman isn’t going without a fight.

Toppling Winds!” shouts the woman, aiming one of her hands outstretch in Valen and Drakvar’s direction.

A massive blast of wind flies out from her hand, knocking everything in her path to the ground. While it affects everything else, the wind-magic is useless against Drakvar, doing absolutely nothing to hinder him.

As he makes his way through the fallen crowd, Drakvar glances at Valen. The Light Mage has been staggered, but nothing more than that.

“Keep after her idiot!” shouts Valen, “Dat has to be Paliyil!”

Drakvar focuses his attention on Paliyil as she flees into some the back streets. He draws two of his swords as Drakvar has a feeling that he will need them.

As Paliyil heads into a back alley, Drakvar heads into another in an attempt to cut her off using his knowledge of local streets and alley ways.

“I got you now Pakdar!” yells a familiar voice and Drakvar groans as Shocker drops down in front of him, her cloak rippling in the air as she lands with a heavy thud, “Now I will make you pay!”

Of all the times...

“Out of the way Shocker,” shouts Drakvar as he charges at her, “I have something important to deal with.”

“Dis is important-” Shocker starts to say only for Drakvar to barge past her, elbowing her out of the way, “Hey!”

“Sorry!” Drakvar yells, not looking back at her as he spots Paliyil running past the other end of the alley.

“Get back here!” screams Shocker angrily and Drakvar hears the electricity crackling through the air followed by a brief sensation of heat as Shocker’s attack disappears upon contact.

Drakvar ignores her as he exits the alley just as Valen runs past the exit in pursuit of Paliyil.

“Hey idiot,” says Valen as he notices Drakvar running alongside him, “If I slow de blaster down, you catch up with her.”

“Sounds like a plan,” replies Drakvar, giving his agreement to the plan as he notices that Valen has his smoking pipe in his mouth.

Wall of Light!” casts Valen with one hand before also casting, “Sunray Strikes!” with another two.

A wall of glowing white light appears in front of Paliyil and two white beams of glowing light leap from Valen’s hands, twisting through the air towards Paliyil.

The Warlock comes to halt before the wall and spins around to face Drakvar and Valen. The first light beam is disrupted as it hits an invisible barrier around Paliyil while Paliyil intercepts the other one, blocking it with the tip of his spear.

As Drakvar and Valen close with Paliyil, she aims her spear at them and fires off a massive beam of black light from it. Drakvar steps in front of Valen and blocks the beam of light with an outstretched hand. The magical attack disappears as it makes contact with Drakvar.

“How?!” exclaims Paliyil in shock as Drakvar swings a fist at her, “Zing-Warp Wind Walk!”

A mere split-second before Drakvar would have made contact with Paliyil, she disappears in a gust of wind.

Godslayer Arc 1.8 Elder Betrayal

As he consumes the potion contained within the vial, Paliyil Dibar feels the power it grants him flowing through his veins.

With increased flow of Chi throughout his body, Paliyil lashes out at the attacking Warlock as his opponent sends several shards of razor sharp rock at him.

Twisted Windz!” yells Paliyil and a supernaturally strong wind tears through the rock shard, shredding them before they can hit Paliyil and smashing into the other Warlock.

A crazed grin comes over Paliyil’s face as the enemy Kith is sent flying, landing out of sight. Paliyil is certain that the Warlock won’t survive the fall, especially with the injuries that would have been inflicted by Twisted Winds.

Paliyil steps over the bloody corpse of another Warlock that he has slain. He hears a slight groan and looks down to see the stirring body of another Kith. He thought that he had already killed her.

I’ll just have to finish the job then!

Paliyil twirls the jagged black spear in his right hand before tightening his grip on it. As the dying Kith stares at up at him with wide and rightfully fearful eyes, Paliyil lets out a wild laugh as he stabs his spear downwards.

The Kith cries out in pain as the barbed spearhead pierces her body.

Blood Feast,” says Paliyil with a soft purr to his voice.

The dying Warlock lets out a pained gasp as the blood is ripped from her veins and arteries. Paliyil feels himself being strengthen as the blood is absorbed into his spear.

“Traitor!” yells a furious voice and Paliyil looks up to see Fatimir Baric standing not too far away from him.

The Kith is the second most powerful Warlock here, even if Paliyil still outclasses her by a wide margin. Not only that, but Fatimir is also much more physically active than Paliyil and therefore is in better physical shape.

Paliyil himself has never seen the advantage of wasting time making his body stronger when he can spend time increase of the power of his magic.

He supposes it is easier for the younger Fatimir. Her mother, Verra Baric, is one of the most powerful Warlocks on the planet and use her magical knowledge to...optimise Fatimir’s mind and body whilst she was still in the womb.

Verra will be a problem. I will be making a dangerous foe out of her when I slay Fatimir. Hmm, do I really need to slay Fatimir? I mean, I will still need to dispose of her. I can’t just Fatimir go after all, but why not take that wonderful body of hers?

That physical prowess will be a great asset and having a delicious young female body is just an added bonus. Not to mention it might be valuable having Fatimir’s body and soul to hold hostage when her mother and whoever she calls upon come after me.

Having decided on a plan, Paliyil only makes minimal efforts to avoid Fatimir’s attack, letting the glowing blade pierces his side.

Grabbing Fatimir’s shoulder, Paliyil cries out, “Blood-Fuelled Zoul Invasion!”

Paliyil briefly sees a look of shock and horror on Fatimir’s face before his mind and soul is launched into her body.

Empowered by his earlier Blood Feast, Paliyil easily crushes Fatimir’s resistance, even as she has the home field advantage.

But Paliyil doesn’t know how long he’ll be about to keep Fatimir’s soul and mind imprisoned in her own body once the temporary power of Blood Feast runs out. So he decides to relocate them instead.

He grabs his jagged spear out of the grip of his old body. Paliyil jabs it into his old body, slightly off-target, but he is still getting accustomed to this new body.

Blood Feast!” says Paliyil in Fatimir’s voice, feeling a flush of pleasure at the sound and he drains his old body of its blood.

Moving on to the next part of his plan, Paliyil shouts, “Blood-Fuelled Zoul Binding!”

Paliyil laughs like a manic as he takes great joy at Fatimir’s panicked and helpless terror as she is stunted into Paliyil’s spear, losing any hope at reclaiming her body from Paliyil’s control.

“Gloriouz!” sneers Paliyil as he twirls the spear.

As per the effects of Soul Binding, the spear begins to reform to accommodate Fatimir’s being. Where it was once a jagged black spear, it shifts into a smooth and sleek spear of a glowing silver and white colour scheme.

“So diz iz what you are like on de inside,” muses Paliyil as he strokes a finger down the side of Fatimir’s new form, “I could never tell when you were in your old body as you always dressed so modestly. Fitting given your status, but frankly, I feel that diz marvellouz body should show off more of its charm. And so it shall since I am now the one controlling it.

Paliyil can help, but feel a thrill at the disgust he can sense in Fatimir.

“And now, I am off to meet de Ascendant.”
